Session Seven

The party has been hustled back to House Sulfurios.

The day after the party, the company heads back to the slaves quarter to investigate the explosions.
There is a skittering noise as the party walks over the bridge. Tentacles appear over the sides of the bridge, and a Grick appears!
Fortune sends her three magic missiles at the creature. While Corrin and Dunban miss their attacks, Meri hits the thing with her spear. The Grick hits back with its tentacles, hitting Meri and doing damage. Corrin also attacks the Grick and skewers it through its mouth and into its brain.
Meri uses her medicinal skills to see if there is anything useful on the Grick that the party can sell.
Fortune lends her frost dagger to Dunban to chop off the tentacles and preserve them for longer.

There is an older tiefling couple putting up posters where the guards were before, the posters they are putting up are about a missing cat called Mittens. Meri decides to ask some questions to the old lady(Mrs Shadowhorn). The old man comes up and tells the party that he will give them more gold if they make sure the cat doesn't come back.

The party then heads south east towards some stone thing. However, the party gets distracted by a market down a side street. An old man sees the group and calls to them saying that they are an odd bunch to be seen in Bael Moloch. They talk to him for a minute and ask some questions. A kid sees the group and starts to bolt down the road. Corrin starts chasing him and the rest of the party follows. Corrin slips over some apples that got spilled and Dunban gets stuck in a crowd, but the rest of the party continues on. Meri attempts the hold the boy with magic but it doesn't work, and Fortune slips in some water that is spilled in front of her. Dunban is running and a beggar is in the way again, and jumps over him. The boy runs into a doorway and seems to disappear. Meri notices a rug and stops, but Dunban stops on it and the rug becomes enchanted and tries to kill him. The party attempts to destroy the rug around Dunban, including slashing at it, tugging it off, and setting it on fire. Dunban manages to grapple the rug off for a second time. Fortune sends magic missiles at the rug that is now around Dunban's legs. Corrin then ties the rug in knots. Meri picks up the tied rug and runs away to attempt to thunderwave, however she has terrible luck and drops the rug on her head, where it tries to smother her with the only small, untied part. Dunban then slashed the rug and hooked it into the river, and it stopped moving and the enchantment died.

The company head east along the shore and head to the strange stone building, which has a symbol of three six-pointed stars in a triangle. Dunban recognises this as a symbol of the goddess Lliira, who is the goddess of joy. The party goes in and the old woman who is inside sees them and tells them to go into the back to rest.
